Easy Training with Common Sense
First and foremost we want our offspring
to be with you a long time. This is why confirmation correctness
is very important in our kennel. We believe that there are tools
to measure the correct structure that your dog should have. First
we are critical about OFA hip certification, by certifying each
and every dog we own or use for service. We do not currently participate
in showing dogs, however we can learn about proper conformation
from the show ring. Breed standards are another good tool used
to determine correct conformation. The females in our kennel will
reach 45-50 lbs. in hunting condition, while our males will be
55- 60lbs in hunting condition.
When we judge our dogs and prospective dogs,
we look for athletic or a fluid movement in the gait. We believe
that tight paws and correct angularity and thickness in the bone
structure will allow a smooth, soft gait that is easy to watch.
Another critical point we look for is depth and width of chest;
this will determine stamina and lung capacity. The last but not
the least important is the correctness of leg structure. If we
breed true to standard we feel that the bird dog will take care
of itself. When looking for a versatile dog, select one that is
built for the job.
