Abel is a Higgins son. He is everything you could ask for in a hunting dog and companion. Abel went 4-4 in the Junior Hunt Test, 4-4 in the Senior Hunt Test and 5-6 in the Master Hunt Test. Abel received his Master Hunt Title Spring of 2009. He hunts quail and wild pheasants in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. Abel is also used on preserve hunts in Iowa. In the field he is an excellent bird finder, while always hunting for the gun. Abel's natural desire to retrieve, powerful nose and stylish point make him enjoyable to have in the field.

Abel is as much of a hunting dog as he is family dog. He is gentle around our 3 young children and sleeps on the front entry rug every night. He is pure joy and a wonderful addition to our home.
