and Expectations
We would like to explain
what you could expect from purchasing a German Shorthair from
our kennel. We will not advertise litters, puppies or adult
dogs on this web site that we do not feel will meet the needs
of our customer and better the breed.
Our puppies are usually sold
prior to the birth of the litter. We have developed a waiting
list to help us organize the needs of our customers. We ask
for a $250 non-refundable deposit along with a letter stating
the needs and expectation of our puppies. We will list the desired
color/marking and sex of the puppy. We cannot meet the needs
of every customer that contacts us and are willing to refer
them elsewhere to prevent future disappointment or distrust
to our program.
We sell our puppies at 7-8
weeks of age picked up here at the kennel. Buyers pay all extra
expenses related to shipping of the puppy. We can ship from
the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids, IA, during approved
temperatures.
Puppy
Prices: Both males and females are sold with limited
registration puppy papers for $1000 each! Puppies have a vaccination
record started and will be registered with AKC at breeders expense.
Started
Dogs - $1500-$2500 ($500 deposit)
A started dog can vary from 6 moths to 1 year of age. This dog
will hold point until the handler produces the bird and acclimated
properly to birds and gun fire. Proper exposure to water, travel,
and e-collar conditioned.
Hunting
Dogs - $2500-$3500 ($500 deposit)
We train hunting dogs for those that are looking for a dog that
is ready for the field. These dogs will hold point until the
bird is produce, retrieve to hand from land or water, and they
will also honor another dogs point! These dogs with have their
retrieve training done and a minimum of 100 birds shot to them!
All basic training and collar conditioning will be done prior
to the sale of these dogs!
Finished
dogs - Priced according to training level and expenses.
Our finished dog is typically a two-year-old or older dog that
has mastered his/her game. Most of our finished dogs and will
pass the AKC “Master” level and NAVHDA Utility level
and will make brag dogs to hunt or guide behind in the wild
bird field!
